Should we just leave things as they are? How credible are we if we don\u2019t take the initiative to impart and <strong>guide everyone\u2019s skills<\/strong> to <strong>nurture talents<\/strong> anywhere along the value chain?<\/p>\n<p>We are an international strategy and management consulting group and this collective responsibility should induce us to share our expertise.<\/p>\n<p>We have been thinking along these lines for several years, and it has prompted us to <strong>offer \u201ccertifying\u201d training courses leading to diplomas<\/strong>, particularly through new partnerships. Training is a great <strong>lever for transforming<\/strong> organizations. It supports the drive to bring a function to maturity through a variety of educational devices ranging from building simple modules to setting up a full training academy at group scale.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s up to us to take on board proactive skill and capability development and tailor it to the firms\u2019 individual needs.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Which is the right methodological approach to adopt to build a relevant training programme?<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>If we are to be credible, we must be structural and make proposals that are apt, to ensure they meet the challenges of the purchasing and sales functions.<\/p>\n<p>Accordingly we develop <a href=\"https:\/\/byo-group.com\/en\/training-in-purchasing-to-develop-key-skills-in-your-teams\/\"><strong>bespoke t<\/strong><strong>raining courses<\/strong><\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/byo-group.com\/en\/market-positioning-growth-strategy\/\">positioning strategy and sales development<\/a> training courses in Europe, America and Asia.<\/p>\n<p>We offer <strong>individual coaching<\/strong> to enable trainees to gauge and enhance their achievements throughout the process.<\/p>\n<p>We have devised an innovative approach and special methodology for this purpose, and establish <strong>the five key skills development stages<\/strong> beforehand by:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Analysing the maturity of the function and skills<\/li>\n<li>Defining the target<\/li>\n<li>Choosing educational topics related to skills areas<\/li>\n<li>Defining learning mechanisms<\/li>\n<li>Measuring individual and global target objectives<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>We are particularly exacting when it comes to teaching style. We aim to blend into the customer\u2019s culture and espouse all the codes. When a training course ends, the trainees should be under the impression that we are company colleagues.<\/p>\n<p>E-learning, coaching, reading, face-to-face training\u2026 the learning methods are tailored to the target in terms of maturity and pursued skills.<\/p>\n<p>Our trainers pride themselves on making their <strong>sessions interactive and enjoyable<\/strong> by adopting a peer-to-peer approach.<\/p>\n<p>Their credo is to <strong>generate winning attitudes<\/strong> and adopt best practices.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Let\u2019s take an example of skills development in a major company \u2013 the SEB Group<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/byo-group.com\/en\/\">BY.O Group<\/a> has been working with <a href=\"https:\/\/byo-group.com\/en\/clients-partenaires\/seb\/\">Seb<\/a><\/strong>, the global market leader for small household appliances, known through its Rowenta, Calor, Tefal and Moulinex brands since 2013.<\/p>\n<p>Every year <strong>150 staff members receive training <\/strong>in the <a href=\"https:\/\/byo-group.com\/en\/supplier-relationship-management\/\"><strong>purchasing and supply chain areas<\/strong><\/a> and follow a specific programme that covers the basic principles for managers, project \u201ccategory\u201d purchasers and supplier performance and quality monitoring. This training is dispensed in three languages (French, English and Chinese).<\/p>\n<p>When interviewed, Herv\u00e9 Montaigu, Vice-President Purchasing of SEB Group confirmed that \u201cthis purchasing academy enhances everybody\u2019s skills. When a company decides to develop a training device in the form of an academy, it will be a major lever for transforming an organization.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He considers that \u201cthese training courses are qualifying, as methods and tools that can be used on a daily basis are taught. Sharing experiences and developing case studies are conducive to learning.<\/p>\n<p>Furthermore, it creates an internal networking dynamic and the feeling of belonging to the SEB Group.<\/p>\n<p>This integration dynamic can also attract young applicants to follow these modules both in-house and externally.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>For instance, the 50 SEB Group \u201cfamily purchasers\u201d have all followed the same skills development training, with the same case studies. Consequently their skills have been enhanced en bloc. This has stimulated team spirit to focus on performance.\u201d The professional coffee machine leader WMF group of Germany was bought up in 2016. As a result new entrants have arrived and will attend the purchasing academy.<\/p>\n<p>Today the SEB Group purchasing academy is five years old.
